Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

This is an attraction that is thoroughly enjoyed by all ages. The best times to visit this attraction are before 10:00 A.M., in the closing hour, or to use a fastpass. You must be 40" tall to ride and children younger than 7 must ride with an adult.

During this western themed roller coaster you will be zipped by falling rocks, and dashed by swinging opossums.

Splash Mountain

This ride is one of the biggest attractions at Magic Kingdom, the best times to ride this are at the park opening, during parades, or just before closing. If none of these times work for you, get a fastpass and try it then. You must be 40" tall to ride it and children younger than 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

During the 10 minute ride you will be rushed down chutes and rushed by a multitude of colorful scenes. The ride is truly made great by the finale which is a a 5 story drop into the briar patch pool.

Wishes - Fireworks Display

This is a 12 minute firework show like no other. It is systematically timed to music from disney classics and narrated by Jiminy Cricket. As long as you are in front of the castle you will have a great view, and be sure to keep an eye out for Tinker Bell as she flies overhead. The show runs nightly during summer and holidays, however check your entertainment schedule for the latest information.

Haunted Mansion

There was a lady who was about to be married when her groom discovered her with the tailor's arms around her. The groom killed the tailor in a rage, and the woman jumped out the window in distress.

The ride is not scary except for maybe some of the most timid preschoolers, and some younger children may become scared by the facade. You should definately ride this ride and if you already have a fastpass in use that's ok this ride moves so fast that you really dont need the fastpass.

Its A Small World

This is a great place to escape the heat if you can stand it. The ride is enjoyed by many on their first time. However it quickly becomes annoying with all of the cheesy dolls and that never ending song blaring in your ear. However if you want to show your child some culture, this ride does present dolls and props from various countries around the world.

Pirates of the Caribbean

An indoor pirate themed attraction that shows a realistic view of pirates taking over a treasure island. It is best to visit before noon or after 5:00 P.M.

This is an attraction that is good to escape the elements, it has two covered waiting lines. The loading time is fairly fast as well.

Country Bear Jamboree

While many may find this show to be somewhat boring, children under 8 seem to almost always enjoy it. If you have never seen it then you really should, it is a Disney classic. The animatronic bears sing and dance in a hoedown kind of way.

Space Mountain

The longest lines at Magic Kingdom, but there is a reason. The reason is because in my opinion it's the best ride at Magic Kingdom. It is also the fastest ride at Magic Kingdom but don't worry it tops out at 28 mph, however the quick turns and drops make you feel like you are going much faster. Not to mention the fact that you are in the dark. I recommend using FASTPASS on this ride. Riders must be at least 44" tall.

Jungle Cruise

This is an outdoor safari boat ride. Jungle Cruise does allow you to fast pass it, however if you are not able to get a fastpass it's best to be there before 10:00 A.M. or 2 hours before the park closes. The ride last on average for 8:30 seconds.

You will encounter animatronic, lions, elephants, mad natives and a hippo. This is what Walt had to deal with since the technology was not available at the time to create the now present Animal Kingdom.

Hall of Presidents

An audio-animatronic history presentation. The best time to go is pretty much any time all day long. This show has a large capacity and you will most likely not have to wait more than 30 minutes.

Notice the details that the imagineers placed on each and every single president. Even when they are not speaking or spotlighted they twitch, tap their fingers and tap move their feet.

Carousel of Progress

This is a show, the seats rotate around a stage and each scene that you stop at shows a different era of technology, from the 1920s - today. This show is rather boring if I do say so myself and if you have to skip something this may be the thing to skip. However if you need to get out of the heat or take a quick nap this may be your best bet. The line is virtually non existent, usually just until the next show starts.

Swiss Family Treehouse

Attention: If you are scared of heights or don't like crowded places then this is not for you. The Swiss Family Treehouse is based on the 1960 Disney movie Swiss Family Robinson. You will walk a cross a rope bridge high above the ground, climb up and down some stairs too see the mahogany furniture. The tree is constructed of polyethylene leaves and has a 90 foot span of branches.
